The highly anticipated release on the X-Box 360 has finally come. Gears of War 3 comes out Tuesday, September 22, and is one of the most exciting games this year with over a million pre-orders. If you are a hardcore gamer or even a casual gamer, you must pick up your copy or risk being excluded from any conversations until Modern Warfare 3 comes out. This third installment in the Gears of War series is a third person shooter where you play Marcus Fenix as well as other supporting characters.

Being a first person shooter fan, this game was still pretty awesome. You can actually go through the campaign with three other friends. You can also play the Locust creatures in a Beast Mode gameplay setting and attack the COG team. As you advance, you can become more higher class Locust such as berserker and boomers.

Personally, I found the game incredibly entertaining, the graphics to be beautiful on the eyes and the storyline to be epic.

Bottom Line: you must get this game on Tuesday and quit reading any more reviews or videos and experience it for yourself.

I haven’t said anything yet about the playoffs. Actually, I have neglected sports big time at Wally Champ even though I am hugely into baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and boxing. So I might as well start especially with the NBA playoffs going on. Lakers all the way! Every team think they can just outrun the Lakers, and yes, maybe that may work for one or two games but no team has actually won a series against them yet. For the East, hopefully we see Boston. I would love to get a rematch again…. now let’s all stare at Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant!

While I could post as usual, the picture upload is affected by this. I am forced to use the browser upload which takes 10 times longer and that is nuts to even try when I got crazy amount of pictures of stuff that I want to post. Oh well, once my tech guy (Tam) finds time to restore the site, I’ll just have this good stuff backed up till it’s running. Sorry for the inconvenience especially for the people that come here daily. If you are the people that comes here daily, let me remind you on why you visit this site. Vanessa Hudgens with no pants on.

This is an essay I wrote in 2005 which won me a scholarship. See, not everything I write about involves boobs.

What do you think your sons and daughters deployed to Iraq are actually doing? The war in Iraq is watched on television, but what they don’t see, is the ugliness that their sons and daughters are turning into. The soldiers are put through excruciating stress with harsh work hours, suffering from homesickness, and are in constant danger. These kinds of constant stress had me act in ways I thought I would have never acted. I had seen the effects of war turning people into their most ugliness and for me to avoid turning into that person. The effects of the war had made me see myself at its worse, but also changing me for the better.

The constant work demanded on the soldiers made life hard for me, as I tried different ways from mentally breaking down. Working on humongous trucks, in blistering 125-degree weather, or welding armor in freezing temperatures, I had to make a change before I mentally breakdown. My mind was constantly tired from working 12 hours and more a day. I tried reading, writing, and watching movies, but none of it really helped me forget where I was. We voiced our concerns but the supervisors ignored the complaints about work hours and the stress they were causing. As a result, a lot of soldiers became very disrespectful of their leaders, while others lash out their anger towards each other. I on the other hand, was constantly criticizing generally good guys that were in leadership positions. I hated talking bad about people unless they deserve it, but these guys didn’t deserve it. They were just given a job where it’s almost mandatory to be hated.

Homesickness was a far worse problem to the soldiers, than the danger that was beyond the barbwires. These problems effect good soldiers, who would never speak one racist word, develop anger towards the native countrymen, blaming them for their woes. I had talked to other unsympathetic soldiers who bragged about accidentally shooting innocent bystanders or how they would bully around the country nationals. One would think that this racism and hatred could only be committed by so called “rednecks”. In Kuwait and Iraq, these idiots were not identified by black, white, brown, or yellow but by the flag they were wearing on their right shoulder. We all wore that flag, and we were all identified with the mistakes and hatred these soldiers committed. If racism wasn’t a problem with the soldiers, adultery was a big issue amongst the troops; married soldiers forget that their wives are at home waiting and taking care of the house and children while their husbands and wives develop relationships with others on camp. I wasn’t innocent from the homesickness problem either. Homesickness caused me to do stupid stuff to entertain the time. For example, playing tackle football on hard rocks and sand, in boots; now, my knees and ankles are in far worse condition then before. I suffered a dislocated thumb, banged the back of my head onto hard metal, a bad hip, almost blowing up a fire barrel with a brand new full paint can, and worse of all, almost getting shot by a bullet that went off while welding on a humvee. At the time, I laughed and had a great time, now I look back on it, I say to myself, “Man that was really stupid of what I did.” All these problems came from being complacent, and not caring anymore if something happened to me. This would be a norm among all soldiers serving in a wartime situation.

After all the things that I tried to help me from mentally breaking down, I found that one thing that made me really forget about the Army; when my shift was over, I was quick to get out of my uniform. If you asked anybody that was over there with me when I was off work, they would say they had never ever seen me in any kind of military clothing when I was off, and that I would only be seen in shorts, t-shirt, and sandals. Wearing non-military clothing made me feel a little bit like the civilians working on camp. Looking like a civilian during my off time almost made it seem like being on deployment was like a regular work thing, and I get to do what I want when it was my time. The only problem with the solution is that it only lasted for an hour or two, because the rest of my off time, I was sleeping. The effects of this routine, last with me to this day. Right after work, I would hurry up and get out of my work clothes. It doesn’t feel any better than it was, being over there when I did it, but now it have become like a routine in my life.

The effects of my experience over my deployment, I have learned that being a good person is hard in a stressful situation. Not caring about the welfare of others or even myself would cause either myself or somebody else to get hurt. I would not be able to stand the fact that these parent’s children didn’t come home because I did something stupid, just to pass the time. My parents watched what we did on television, but I knew how it really was. It’s hard for me when my parents, relatives, and people in general, praise me, when they don’t know what was really going on with the soldiers and me during the deployment. Looking back at everything, I have become more of a tolerant person, letting small issues be small while making big issues become smaller. Now that I am out of the Army, I see the effects of my new self, and others too have noticed, I’ve become a happier person mentally, although physically, I am worse than I was before I joined. Some days, my family, friends, and I, talk about how angry they are at the war and the president, and they ask me how I feel about it. I simply reply, “Well, it could be worse.”

We have decided to take the first step back to relaunching the Wally Champ site after it got hacked. That’s just the way it is in the internet world. You have a good thing going until you piss off the wrong person, and then they totally destroy your site. Years and years (actually 2) of great content that I would use to chronicle my youth, erased by a hateful person with knowledge of internet geekery and viruses. But I have never been the type to hold onto the past. Oh no, starting over revitalizes my energy to improve on something that I thought was perfect. The 3 weeks since we have been off, I had time to reflect if I wanted to keep doing this because quite frankly, it was nice to not be in the know of the cool and perverted. Yes, I still clicked on a couple sites which I consider my favorite, but that is all I did. I didn’t repost information; I just enjoyed it and moved on. But only if that was so simple. I am drawn back by the fascination and vision of being able to provide high quality images, videos, and most importantly content. Writing comes natural to me but I have become lazy lately. Which means I become cynical of subjects in my posts. It’s tough to provide 10 quality posts without being cynical. So if it means I only do one high quality post a day, than I’m emulating GQ.com ‘s blog; which I admire for intelligent and entertaining writing. For this day, I think this letter will be my standard, something that I strive in creativity and communication. Yes this will be my only post for today, a high quality one indeed… actually if you click on the next page, you get some high quality pictures of Miranda Kerr in the new GQ issue. She is hot and that trumps any high quality writing.
