I totally look like Jack Bauer with this Filson Medium Field Bag I got in the mail today….. Or a guy that looks like he is wearing a purse from far away. I decided to get a shoulder bag because I hated carrying stuff in my pockets. It is incredibly annoying and it forms bulges in the wrong areas of my body.
The first thing that stands out to me is the oil finish twill fabric. This fabric offers maximum water repellent which is useful if I carry my DSLR in bad weather. I don’t know why I would do that but you never know if a typhoon hits when I’m taking pictures of chicks in bikinis on a beach. The Filson bag has two leather straps with buckles in front, two side pockets, and a open rear pocket. It is double layered which means durability and protection of your personal items from the elements.
This bag did not fit my 14.5 inch laptop, but it can easily fit anything smaller. The Filson field bag is incredibly useful because now I can carry my wallet, keys, phone, mace, condoms, KY jelly, camera….. my god this is a man purse! A tough man purse! I can see why old people wear fanny packs. They are incredibly useful for medicinal storage, but it is incredibly stupid looking.
My bag is a field bag rather than a oversized messenger bag like Jack is sporting. Mine does look better and probably more durable, but he does have a 9mm pistol with a silencer. So it’s a tie.
