I revisit one of my favorite episodes of all time “Homer Goes to College” again. Watch how Homer defends his friends after Bart accuses him of hanging with nerds. HAR HAR HAR!
If you ever see a list of my favorite Simpsons’ episode, I guarantee you none of them will ever be after 95′. I think my changing point of The Simpsons was the X-Files centric episode. That is when the writers trumped antics over characters. I’m pretty sure it was because of those stupid focus groups. You can’t let normal Simpsons’ fans tell you what they like. They are stupid! You need the more eccentric ones like me to tell you what made The Simpsons great in the early 90′s. Or you let the guys at deadhomersociety.com tell you.
For awhile, I thought I was the only one that felt The Simpsons have truly changed. I would walk on bridges and look out into the water with the feeling that I am alone in this world. In my mind, I screamed at the top of my lungs, “Why can’t I find another person that feels this way about The Simpsons!” Then I realized, I never even tried to find anybody. I didn’t even find the Dead Homer Society guys, they found me through my Hulu clips of my favorite episodes. It’s like astronomers sending out radio signals through the universe in hopes of catching extraterrestrial life. The only difference between me and the astronomers is, I found my intelligent life form, and have touched boobies before, real women’s boobies. Not mannequins.
